So today I made a new friend at one of our tower sites. My first real encounter with a rattlesnake. The way i found this rattlesnake was heart stopping to say the least. When I got to the door of our building, I did the standard pound on the box covering the lock to check for spiders. Nothing drops out, kneel down to take a look and it appears to be all good. Open the door, take my stuff inside and boot up my laptop. While I’m waiting I decide that I’ve been chewing on this piece of gum for way too long. So I walk back to the front of the building and spit my gum out. Immediately I jump as I hear a rattle sound come from right where I had spit out my gum. “Holy shit! That’s a rattlesnake.” I just spit my gum out at a rattlesnake and didn’t even know it was there. Then I realized, I was just kneeling down in that very spot to unlock the door. Pounding on it and I didn’t even know there was a snake there. At some point I managed to cover the snake in dirt so that it wouldn’t be staring at me while I went in and out of the building. Eventually the snake left and went on to do whatever the hell it wanted to do. Peace out Mr. #Rattlesnake #vscocam
