Is the world on fire or is it just me?

It’s hard to understand this world when it’s always a complete shit storm. Currently there are fires all along the West Coast of the country. There is a seriously terrible situation going on in Texas after Hurricane Harvey tore through. However, now there is also now Hurricane Irma that is following almost right along the same path.

It’s not as bad here but it’s still bad in it’s own way as the fires around Eagle Creek have spread well over 4800 acres. The National Weather Service said that the spread is actually going to get worse before it has a chance for it to get any better. I know that it’s stupid to think this, but Sunday morning after I had finished work, I wanted to wash my car because it was covered in dirt from all the construction going on across from my apartment. Now my car however, is covered in ash. Much like my patio is in the photo below:

I believe in California, around 19 wild fires are burning up and down the state causing serious trouble. It’s also troubling knowing that here on the West Coast we were so happy for all the snow fall/packs that happened this past winter. Now it seems a lot of that water is going to be used to try and put out the fires.

It’s so hard to grasp how bad it really truly is around the world. We have wars, poverty, hunger, natural disasters, and more that it makes me wonder if the human race was always fated to be doomed.

It’s an ugly sky this morning here in Oregon. Forest fires got the sky looking like So.Cal. LOL #nofilter

POTD 010/365 – Wet Rainy Night but with SNOW!

Dude, it rained almost all day!!! So why not enjoy a day of water with an evening of booze, pizza and a slightly solid form or water. I really just posted my Tripod in the back of the truck and did some bulb shots at a max of f/ 32 to get the most amount of just snow with some blurring. Turns out… it didn’t work to well and I was waaaaay to fucking cold and wet to keep trying. Also, the lens was just filling up with water spots. So the longer I held the shots the more refraction of light was happening on those spots LOL. I still like it though.

Day 066/365: So I guess this bridge is going to be a bit behind schedule

Day 066/365: So I guess this bridge is going to be a bit behind schedule

So today was an interesting set of events. I had been working on a few things and I felt like I needed some air. So I walk out of my office and everyone is all talking about a fire. “What’s going on?” I ask.

“Oh you didn’t hear?” one person replies, “The Rancheros Bridge is on fire.”

“You mean the one they are building out by Oak Hills?” So I asked if they wanted some pictures and our GM said yes. So off I go in our truck and oh boy the traffic of people driving around. Of course, I’m driving a truck. So as I got passed most of the main roads I started to come up to people stuck in traffic. I look around and find dirt roads and take myself to the incident in less than 30 mins. I’m pretty proud of myself. I navigated my way around in the middle of nowhere.

Day 012/365: My cute great distraction

Seriously, sometimes I haven’t got things done because of this dude right here. Also, if I let you die in WoW as tank it’s probably his fault. It’s ok though he’s too cute anyways. Just every so often when he decides to just lay across my arms it’s not so fun hahaha

Day 009/365: The Fun About Getting Way High Up

Via Flickr:

Let’s face it. Some places really are worth exploring and having a 4×4 at your disposal to get there is an absolute pleasure. Today we went on a photo hunt for @partyallmyown’s Photoshop class. So I thought I’d take her some place no one in her class would ever go to shoot a photo. One, because the path to take is a serious pain in the ass. Two, because usually no one is up there. Number one was true today, number two not so much. Wasn’t expecting to see anyone up here working on a tower but what ever. I got to check some of our equipment and take some awesome photos up here. Also, it’s funny how scared people get when they are in the passenger seat being dragged up a super bumpy ass road on the side of a mountain.

Hanging out in San Diego – September 13 & 14, 2013

So there is one thing I’ve come to realize since I’ve moved out here. I’m never going to like a beach here it seems. I’ve been spoiled by my home of beaches. Nothing against the coastal beach parks crew and all but it’s just not that great to me.

I’m from Hawaii, where our sand isn’t dust. When Limu (seaweed) washes up on shore, it doesn’t smell so bad and infested with so many tiny bugs. I really didn’t know what to do.

However, here are some photos from San Diego.

Now, the rest of San Diego was nice. Went to Old Town San Diego which was like a little Mexico if that’s what it’s like. Everything had a real Mexican vibe about the place.

We ate at a place called Casa De Reyes and wow was it great. There was a 40 minute wait to get a table but that wasn’t really all that bad considering the restaurant was surrounded by shops. They had a stage where people were performing dances. By the time I had been through two stores and a bit of entertainment, it had already been time to get our table.

I had a great Cumin Rubbed Salmon with Mango. OMG TO DIE FOR!

Anyways, take a look at the rest of the set up top on the slideshow.

626 Night Market – August 31, 2013 – Arcadia

Here are some of the photo I took during the 626 Night Market out in Arcadia California. It was an interesting experience. So much more food than my stomach could handle ever. I wanted to try everything but alas I couldn’t. They had the world’s largest cup of Boba Ice Tea there. I don’t know how I felt about them serving the drinks out of it though.
