Alright before I start this whole thing I must say… this is how work should be done. On a 1080p LCD TV with PIP (picture-in-picture) showing HD football on one side and my computer on the other HAHA. Oh and if you didn’t see it in front of my TV is the “Best Waste of Time” as awarded by @SuperCW on her blog for her “Best of 08” post.
Haha anyways its over now and I just saw the worst OT defense ever way to go guys.
So Friday was the first “First Friday” (that is so grammatically wrong) in China Town of the year and well my first ever as well. So I’m no longer a virgin to it. I’ll probably go again next month since there were people telling me that it was slow. So if i was having a good time then that means the next one will be even better!! I guess it was slow because everyone is still hung over from New Years Eve and Day combined. A girl named Linda (whom i still can’t remember where we met each other before) was saying that, “NYE isn’t an excuse. They had a whole day to recover.” I had to laugh at that, because she was right LOL.
Well the spots I went to were ThirtyNine Hotel, Bar 35, and the Loft. These spots were definitely kicking and from what I heard was still kicking after I left to finish some work at home :( @SuperCW, next time I’m coming to Next Door. I swear the tweets were just saying a “off the hook!” party was going on :( Anyways enough talk more pics!!
Coincidentally, the first person I ran into down in China Town is @SuperCW. Rock on! and her buddy from Cali… Lance? Damn I suck at names “Boo me…”
We took a walk up to ThirtyNine Hotel where immediately I started drinking haha. People were having a few drinks and dinner before the big night on the town. This place is cool!
On the stairwells were articles about ThirtyNine Hotel and lots of other stuff too. It was something to really look at on the way up. Next time you go take a peek at it. Just don’t block peoples way.
After I finished my one drink I moved on to the Loft and caught this shot of the street. China Town is so amazing at night. During the day its all hustle and bustle but at night its splendid.
I get to the Loft and I got a call from Dave Hisaka that he was with Haz-Matt and meeting me there. So I stuck around and took this.
There wasn’t anything going on yet so we walked over to Bar 35. The streets were starting to get packed with peoples looking for a place to party!
It’s a nice vibe in Bar 35. I love the whole open floor with great seating. Oh and they serve pizza! Always a plus.
Idk who this guy was but he was doing a really good job mixing some down tempo house and trance.
I was hungry and wanted to like sit down and eat so we left Bar 35 in search of a place that Dave said was called Mercury… we ran into Augie T first hosting a stage between Bethel and Nuuanu. He was talking to us about our 808 Ghosts show and that he wouldn’t do it cuz he small kine superstitious. no worries dude!! its all good man! after awhile you get used to it. well until something scares the crap outta ya
Ok. So as a photog i did something unthinkable by the whole photog community… i put my camera away cuz i was more hungry than interested in taking pics. Anyways, we get on over to where Dave said Mercury was and it didn’t look like anything was there so we went to J.J. Dolans instead. I ordered another vodka 7 and a pepperoni pizza which was excellent. there’s just something about a crunchy bottom to a pizza that i love. its like taking sodium crackers, sticking them in a toaster oven with cheese and meat on them and grinding down!!! Insane Zane showed up there as well then we left to head back over to Bar 35 to meet up with someone.
We found a spot to sit and relax and took this pic of Haz-Matt drinking… water. yay… haha j/k man.
I love how people are on their cellphones getting numbers, dancing, drinking and talking story all in the same place. haha
We headed out to the back and were immediately greeted by the most amazing set of rock ballads ever. You know the one that you just can’t help singing when you hear them. Styx, Guns and Roses, Aerosmith, Survivor, Tony Basil (ok Hey Mickey isn’t a rock ballad but you know you’ll sing it if you hear it.) It was freakin awesome.
After eating i was finally in a picture taking mood after that hehe
OH!! Tiffany Showed UP!!! YAY!! we were waiting for her to show up. I haven’t seen her in a while… no wait… i saw her the night i went to Bonsai, but at the time she was bummed about Oceans808. Still had a good time though haha.

ok anyways i know i’m going to get yelled at for this but i just have too haha my hoodie which yes Gwynnelle bought for me was getting a lot of love last night haha. I think the ears are what really sell it haha. I swear if they make the power-up one with the little yellow cape on the back i’m so getting that one too haha.
Well Dave and Matt left for Pearl Ultralounge. I wasn’t quite done with First Friday yet so I walked back over to The Loft to see what was going down. I get to the front door and some people were looking for an 8th person to get a free bottle of champaign. It was rather funny. Thanks Mr. X.

Since I bussed it there… i bussed it back home which is always good cuz drinking and driving is bad damnit! However if you catch a gem like this at the bus stop u just have to take a picture haha.
Anyways, I’m looking forward to heading out there again and having a grand ol’ time next month so look for me and lets get some shots and photo shots hehe.
